The College of Materials Science and Engineering successfully hosted the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Selection Competition on October 28, 2024, with the aim of selecting outstanding graduate-level forestry students to represent Northeast Forestry University in the Asia-Pacific Young Scientists Association (AYSA) 3MT Competition in November 2024.
This academic competition is dedicated to enhancing the presentation and communication skills of graduate students, enabling them to convey the significance of their research findings to a non-specialist audience in a clear and engaging manner. In addition, this competition encourages students to engage in international cooperation, broaden their global perspectives, enhance their international capabilities, and thereby fostering innovation in research.
The event was warmly welcomed by the students, with a total of 58 master and doctoral candidates participating. The presentation theme includes bio-based materials/products, bioenergy, and wood-based products/materials. After a rigorous process of qualification review, preliminary rounds, and the final competition, here are the winners of the competition:

The 3MT is a globally recognized academic research communication competition, initiated by the University of Queensland in 2008. Currently, the competition has been launched in over 350 universities across 85 countries, and Northeast Forestry University is also one of the participating partner institutions. In 2023, Dong Xiaofei and Bai Lulu entered the finals. The winners of this 3MT academic competition will represent the university in the final 3MT competition hosted by AYSA. We extend our best wishes for great success to our students!
